Foundations of Stream Continuity

Stream continuity represents the fundamental principle of maintaining an uninterrupted connection, ensuring that a waterway remains consistent in character upstream, downstream, and through a road-stream crossing. This ecological and structural harmony encompasses a wide array of critical attributes, including the waterway’s slope, width, and shape, as well as the specific composition of streambed materials and features such as pools, riffles, and steps. 

This training is designed to provide practitioners and professionals with a comprehensive foundation in the principles of stream continuity, tracing its evolution from historical perspectives to modern-day implementation. Participants will explore the technical lifecycle of a project, covering essential phases such as data collection, design, permitting, and construction.
